Speediance 2S vs Original: Real User Review After 600,000+ lbs Lifted

Hands-on comparison of Speediance 2S vs Original after lifting over 600,000 pounds on both machines. Covers processor differences, daily use, and which one to buy.

I own both the Speediance 2S and the original Speediance, and I've lifted over 600,000 pounds combined on them. Here's my real-world comparison after months of daily use on both machines.

The Processor Difference: I reached out to Speediance directly to ask about the processors. They confirmed the 2S has a meaningfully upgraded processor from the original. The original has a different processor entirely. While both run the same Android interface, the 2S scrolls noticeably smoother - about a half-second faster when clicking into exercises and starting workouts.

Daily Use Differences: Both machines run the Lunar Flow challenge and other programs identically. The only real difference is in that half-second loading time on the original. Honestly, it's not impactful during workouts - you'd never notice unless you're comparing them side by side.

The Recommendation: If you can find an open-box original Speediance for $1,000-1,500 (they still carry the full warranty), that's an absolute steal. The original is a phenomenal machine. The 2S processor upgrade is nice but not essential. Save money if budget matters - you'll be happy with either.

Cable Angle Adapters: One thing I learned: don't leave the angle adapters on all the time. At 6' tall, I can't get full range of motion on bicep curls with them attached. Only use them when needed for specific exercises.

Rope Attachments: The Speediance rope is plastic - the only weak point on an otherwise metal machine. I actually use my old Tonal rope instead (they're compatible with the Speediance clip). The Tonal rope has rubber grips which are much better for heavy lifting.

Software Bugs: I've experienced a workout disappearing mid-session on the original (lost a 17,000 lb session). The 2S has been more stable. Both have had occasional weight estimation errors - the machine once suggested 90 pounds for tricep extensions when the demo video shows the trainer using just 8 pounds.

The Bottom Line: Both are excellent machines. The 2S is smoother and more stable, but the original delivers 95% of the functionality at a lower price point.
